Hernandez, who missed the last 12 games with a calf injury, went 62 minutes in the Galaxy’s 1-1 draw with Colorado.

“We know this is a busy week so we didn’t want to use it all up in one game because we know we’ll be back in the middle of the week,” said Galaxy coach Greg Vanney on Saturday. “It was great to see him out there again because he’s an important part of this group.”

Hernandez and the Galaxy are back against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. at Dignity Health Sports Park. This is the Galaxy’s first home game since August 20th. The club are 0-2-1 in their last three home games.

“The past is the past, it’s over,” said Hernandez of his injury. “I’m just trying to help my team. I don’t think I’m the solution, a hero over there. I’m just another player trying to do my best to help this team improve. ”

The quick start of Hernandez is not to be forgotten. He opened the season with 10 goals in the first 10 games.

He is one of nine players who have scored at least 10 goals this season. He just hit his number quickly.

“I don’t need credit, I don’t want credit,” he said. “I don’t need any personal awards. What I want is the sixth championship for this organization. I am no better or worse than anyone else here. We all have different roles and with my uniqueness and my personality I just try to express, to share.

“I just try to do my best. That’s the only thing I honestly want to share with all of my teammates and the people around me. We all have to do our best and then try to win a title. Everyone here is working towards the same goal: They want to see the Galaxy in the MLS final and win the trophy. ”

The Galaxy (11-8-4, 37 points) make it to the second of three games in eight days and take on a Dynamo club that have only scored one win in their last 17 games. The Dynamo is on the way without a win (0-7-5) and takes 12th place in the Western Conference.
