James Middleton and Alizee Thevene have tied the knot! Middleton announced the news in an Instagram post on Sunday, stating that he and Thevenet were married on Saturday in south-eastern France.
“Mr. & Ms. Middleton ❤️ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷,” he wrote on social media . “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a couple of dogs in the beautiful village [of] Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am ❤️.” In the picture posted, Thevene’s dress appears to be a simple white strapless style, and in true James Middleton fashion, the photo also shows a photo bomb of one of his puppies in the background. For his part, the groom wore a cream jacket over a light blue shirt and dark blue tie.
Although it is unconfirmed who exactly Middleton means when he says he is “surrounded by family,” it is a safe assumption that the Duchess of Cambridge was there on her brother’s big day. However, Will and Kate still have to publicly congratulate the bride and groom.
The wedding this weekend was a celebration that lasted more than a year. Middleton and Thevene got engaged in autumn 2019. “❤️She said OUI ❤️,” he wrote on Instagram in October of the same year. “Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news 🥂🍾 #jalizee 🇬🇧🇫🇷”
But like so many couples, Middleton and Thevene had to postpone their wedding due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “It’s very sad, but it’s just not practical to keep it through this crisis,” a source told the Daily Mail in March 2020.
