A 20-story residential building was devastated by a spectacular fire on Sunday August 29 in Milan in northern Italy. The building located in the southern outskirts of the Lombard capital caught fire in the upper floors around 5.30 pm. “The flames then spread to lower levels,” causing thick smoke, firefighters said on their Twitter account.
“Residents of the building were reached on the phone. There are no reports of missing, ”they clarified in the evening. About 70 families reside in the building.
“Firefighters move from apartment to apartment, breaking through doors to make sure no one is left inside. But we are optimistic because there has been time to get out, ”said the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, as quoted by Il Corriere della Sera.
According to the daily, around twenty tenants were slightly intoxicated. Dozens of firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Same scenario of the Batignolles where the decorative exterior panels melt and fall while spreading the fire, and hamper the intervention of the firefighters. I repeat, the plexiglas panels of the Samaritaine on the facade on the Rivoli side must be eliminated immediately, except tomorrow to wonder about who had authorized this. .. when it is already too late.
