The eighth generation Chevrolet Corvette is one of the best sports cars you can buy today, regardless of the price. Being a bargain will only make it more interesting due to its supremacy on the racetrack in the 2020 IMSA season. While there is no doubt that owning a C8.R would be high on any sports car or Corvette fan’s list, there are minor federal regulations that keep you from driving this race car on the road. To give you the next best thing, the folks at Corvette release special editions of the roadworthy ‘Vette celebrating the # 3 and # 4 C8.R racing cars.

As you can imagine, these special models are designed to look like the IMSA racing machines. Based on the Top-Sprung 3LT equipment and equipped as standard with the performance-oriented Z51 package, these special editions of the Corvettes are no budget. To the already respectable features, Chevy will add a high wing spoiler, yellow brake calipers, carbon flash mirrors and black trident wheels with the Corvette Racing “Jake” logo.

These special edition Corvettes will be available in two colors : Acceleration yellow and hypersonic gray. The yellow Vettes have gray graphics and imitate the No. 3 C8.R. Gray cars have yellow graphics that reflect machine number 4. Combine these limited finishes with the additional, racing-inspired accents, and you have your own, roadworthy C8.R. To make sure people know you have the special edition, Chevy also adds a car cover with the picture of the special edition car reproduced on the footage.

Chevy doesn’t rip out the insides of these Corvettes to give you the tough Enabling life in a racing car. In fact, they have one of the nicest interiors available in a Corvette. Chevy says the GT2 seats are standard, but competition sports seats are available if you need a more aggressive seat. As with the exterior, there are only two colors to choose from for the cockpit: Strike Yellow or Sky Cool Gray. The colors reflect the exterior to emphasize your racing livery.

If you install this package on the 3LT and Z51 equipped 2022 C8, it will cost an additional $ 6,595. That means the cheapest version of these special editions is $ 85,535.

These special-edition Chevrolet Corvettes are undoubtedly cool, but should performance-minded buyers hold out until the Z06 shows up? Let us know in the comments below.
