According to the National Weather Service, heavy rains will occur through Monday from Hurricane Ida over southeast Louisiana, the Mississippi coastline, and southwest Alabama.

The consequences of the rainfall are life-threatening falls and urban Floods as well as significant effects of river flooding, according to the NWS at 10 p.m. update.

A flash flood watch for Atmore is in effect until Tuesday, August 31st at noon; a tornado watch is in effect until August 30th at 6am; and a wind warning is valid until 10 p.m. on August 30.
