Duncan Scott became the first British athlete to win four medals in a single Olympics when Team GB celebrated their best swimming catch in a game.

Luke Greenbank, Adam Peaty, James Guy and Scott took silver in the Final of the men’s 4×100-meter relay, 0.73 seconds behind the United States, who won gold in a world record time of three minutes and 26.78 seconds.

Great Britain’s eighth medal – four gold and three silver – and a bronze medal – in the final swimming competition in Tokyo surpassed her previous best performance in the pool of seven, which was set up at the London Games 113 years ago.
