The government is working to combat the effects of climate change, including organizing rehabilitation measures for those affected by climate change in the country, said Environment Minister Md .Tk implemented with funds from the Climate Change Trust Fund.

In the coastal areas alone, around 30 million people have benefited from these projects.

The minister said the government would take steps in the future to find more houses for those who have become homeless due to climate change.

This is what the Environment Minister said when he spoke as the main guest in an exchange of views with representatives of the Bangladesh Climate Change Trust in the Old Forest Building in Mohakhali on Tuesday.

Mr Shahab said all necessary steps would be taken to change the law, set up field offices and recruit adequate labor so that the Climate Change Trust could function independently.

The minister instructed the relevant authorities to build the Cyclone Shelter Cum Primary School on a four-story foundation and to set up a lightning forecast system across the country.

The meeting was chaired by Masud Ahmed, Executive Director of the Climate Change Trust, while Nasir-ud-Daulah, Secretary of the Trust; On the occasion, Md. Khairuzzaman, Director, S.M. Munirul Islam, Conservator of the Ministry of Forestry, and Shakila Yasmin, Deputy Director of the Trust, spoke.

Before the meeting, the Minister visited a photo exhibition of various activities carried out with funds from the Climate Change Trust Fund and gave instructions on various topics to those affected.
