Google Cloud has introduced the Network Connectivity Center (NCC), which it claims represents a revolution in the simplification of on-premise and cloud networks.

The NCC is intended to offer the possibility of virtual private networks (VPNs), interconnects and Cisco SD-WAN can be deployed and easily managed as a single network, allowing users to access workloads from anywhere through a single pane of glass connecting VPNs, partner and dedicated connections as well as local area networks while the Collaborated with Google Cloud’s Network Intelligence Center for end-to-end visibility to monitor, visualize and troubleshoot a network.

Google Cloud said that as companies increasingly move to a cloud-first strategy, the complexity of the connection increases Manage resources across on-premises and the cloud to ensure access to all workloads from anywhere. This often meant that network teams had to configure and manage multiple networks while providing consistent access, policies, and services in global cloud regions.

In order to deliver network services anywhere, Google said the company needed a simple programmatic model called the seamlessly spanning the cloud, on-premises data centers and branch offices.

To address these issues, the NCC is designed to provide planet-level network management to simplify complex networks for businesses’ on-premise and cloud connectivity needs. The individual administration experience should include the ability to create, connect and manage heterogeneous on-premise and cloud networks based on Google’s global infrastructure. The NCC serves as the starting point for connecting VPNs, partners and dedicated links, as well as third party party routers and software defined WANs, helping businesses optimize connectivity, reduce operational loads, and lower costs.

The NCC enables VPN-based cloud connectivity directly and via a number of partners, so that companies have the opportunity to create, connect and use resources across multiple clouds. These resources are connected via the Google infrastructure and can be operated directly via the NCC or selected partner systems.

The NCC can also be used as a standard landing point when integrating SD-WAN and other routing systems into the Google infrastructure . In this way, companies should be able to easily and reliably use connectivity when needed, while at the same time extending the advantages of their SD-WAN and routing technology to Google Cloud.

The introduction of the NCC is also a product Google Cloud’s expanded partnership with Cisco. The NCC and the Cisco SD-WAN Cloud Hub connect branch offices and local data centers to the cloud using the global infrastructure from Google and the vManage from Cisco SD-WAN.

By integrating their technologies more closely, the two companies bring the availability of the new solution with new features that greatly simplify complex heterogeneous networks, protect business-critical applications and minimize operational overhead and costs.

Colgate-Palmolive was one of the first users of the NCC. Miguel Mejia, Technical Director of WAN, said, “As an industry leader, a fast and reliable network is essential to maintain our productivity in a large number of our workplaces around the world. We know the Google Cloud NCC could help us gain broader access to Google’s global network and connect our remote users and applications together in a consistent manner. “

Despite fears by many that the rollout of next generation infrastructure may be delayed or simply not possible, mainly due to the adverse economic conditions caused by Covid-19, the prospects for the 5G industry in 2021 are real pretty good.
