Up to 7,000 fans will be allowed in the game between Geelong and Western Bulldogs on Friday evening in the GMHBA stadium, the Victorian government announced on Wednesday afternoon.
As part of a further relaxation of the restrictions, members of the region Geelong grants access to the venue for cats and dogs.
It’s a significant boost after health advice originally banned crowds from the venue earlier this week as two more games of the 14th.
The marquee game is on Friday night as one of the highlights of the round, with the Cats claiming a very impressive win over Port Adelaide last Thursday night.
The AFL has also confirmed that the VFL will be returning to Victoria due to the eased restrictions.
