The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Galway public hospitals has dropped by a second day, according to the latest HSE data.
There are now 31 people with the disease at Galway University Hospital, three fewer than yesterday, while the number of cases in the Portiuncula Hospital has fallen to three.
There are still three patients with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit of the UHG, but none of the three confirmed cases in the Portiuncula Hospital has been since yesterday Evening in the intensive care unit.
Nationwide on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. there were 357 people with the virus in hospitals, 52 of them in the intensive care unit.
When the data were collected, there were two intensive care beds at the UHG and one at the portiuncula Hospital available, and 20 general beds were available at UHG.
