Following the floods on Monday morning, the Carrefour Market supermarket in Wimille will have to remain closed this Monday all day. Wimereux where roads are blocked.
The floods affected part of the road as well as the parking lots around the college and the supermarket.
Since around 4 a.m. this Monday morning, very heavy rains have been falling in the Boulonnais region and more particularly in the area of Wimille and Wimereux. In Wimille, it is mainly the district of the College Pilâtre de Rozier that is affected.
The car parks bordering the establishment, as well as part of the car park in front of the Carrefour supermarket, are completely flooded. The surroundings of the old Fleurière greenhouses are also affected.
But it is above all the Carrefour Market supermarket which, according to initial information gathered from the firefighters, suffered the most damage. Several centimeters of water are being evacuated by the employees in the affected departments, at the level of the cash registers and the entrances of the store.
The supermarket will not be able to welcome its customers on Monday. On the other hand, the college is not closed and it welcomes students in the normal way, under the reinforced supervision of the administration.
