European time trial champion in 2019 in Alkmaar, Remco Evenepoel is aiming for a second European title on the clock on Thursday in Trento, Italy. The Schepdaal native will however have to contend with Italian world champion Filippo Ganna, Swiss European champion Stefan Küng and Slovenian Tadej Pogacar. Rune Herregodts will be the second Belgian representative.

The elite men’s time trial will start at 4:00 p.m. You will find below the departure times of the Belgians as well as the favorites on this 22.4 km course with only 140 m of elevation gain.

4:10 p.m .: Rune Herregodts (BEL)

4:36 p.m .: Remco Evenepoel (BEL)

Only if the numbers improve dramatically in the coming weeks will the system not be installed.

This ceremony, both solemn and popular, will begin at 4.30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Invalides with a eulogy for President Macron.

The European Championship time trial will be a definitive test for the Worlds, as there are not many people missing in Trentino.

On the eve of Remco Evenepoel’s challenge among the professionals, the two juniors entered by Carlo Bomans won the two best medals in the clock and Trente. A demonstration which confirms the talent of a new generation in the discipline of time trial where Belgium was nowhere five years ago.

On the eve of his time at the European Championships, Remco Evenepoel took advantage of a discussion to break up the tables to already take stock of a season he wants to finish thoroughly. And this observation, clear: it must focus much more on competition at the courses.
