England football mourns one of the best strikers in its history. Jimmy Greaves has indeed died at the age of 81, announced Tottenham, where he holds the record for the number of goals.

Greaves started with Chelsea, for whom he scored 124 goals between 1957 and 1961. He then played for more than ten years with Tottenham, scoring 266 goals in 379 appearances. The center-forward also has 57 caps and 44 goals for the England team. He was part of the group that won the World Cup at home in 1966.
Jimmy Greaves has two wins in the FA Cup (1962, 1967) and one in the European Cup for Cup-winning clubs (1963). He was the top scorer in the English Championship six times (1959, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1969).
After his playing career, he notably presented from 1985 to 1992 a television program entitled “Saint and Greavsie” with the Scottish Ian St-John, former glory of Liverpool. Greaves had suffered a small heart attack in 2012, then another more severe in 2015.
