The Charlotte Hornets are giving their home crowd exactly what they hoped to see. After a quarter, neither team has the fight up, but Charlotte leads 30-28 over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Hornets leaned on shooter Terry Rozier, who has seven points, and forward Jalen McDaniels, who has six points and five rebounds.
Charlotte and Minnesota entered this game with wins in previous games. We’ll see if Charlotte can maintain her lead for another victory and offset the positive energy from Minnesota.
The Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t won a game against the Charlotte Hornets since Oct. 25, 2019, but they will look to end the drought on Friday. They will face off at 7:00 p.m. AND at the Spectrum Center. The points spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close game.
The Miami Heat usually have all the answers at home, but Minnesota proved too difficult a challenge on Wednesday. The Timberwolves beat Miami 113-101. Among those leading the charge for Minnesota was shooter Anthony Edwards, who shot 6 for 15 from downtown and finished with a double-double with 33 points and 14 rebounds in addition to six under.
As for Charlotte, they can’t say they don’t have anything to thank for this Thanksgiving week. They topped the Orlando Magic by a score of 106-99 on Wednesday. Charlotte’s shooting guard, Terry Rozier, looked sharp as he had 27 points and five assists as well as six steals.
The Timberwolves are now 9-9 while the Hornets are 12-8. A few defensive stats to watch out for: Minnesota kept their opponents at a 43.10% field goal percentage, placing them fourth in the league. Less enviable, Charlotte stumbles into the game with the third most points allowed per game in the league, after allowing 112.4 on average.
The Hornets are a slight 2.5-point favorite against the Timberwolves, according to the latest NBA odds.
