Exports of anti-Covid vaccines manufactured within the European Union are no longer subject to an authorization request as of January 1, 2022. The transparency and authorization mechanism for these exports, which was introduced in the The EU in early 2021 was due to expire on December 31, which the EU confirmed on November 26. However, this mechanism is replaced by another mechanism called surveillance, which collects data on the export of these vaccines produced on European soil. Manufacturers therefore no longer need to apply for an export authorization, but must declare all their shipments outside the EU to the customs authorities of the Member States.
