SYDNEY (July 30th): On Friday, a Tesla Inc battery in Australia caught fire while testing one of the largest energy storage batteries in the world on a project by the French Neoen SA, said fire authorities and a Neoen spokesman .

The fire broke out Friday morning local time during an initial attempt by the high profile Victorian Big Battery energy project near Melbourne, authorities said, adding that no one was injured and the facility was evacuated.

“Neoen and Tesla are working closely with local emergency services to manage the situation,” said Louis de Sambucy, CEO of Neoen SA.
