The Open Forum of the next World Economic Forum in Davos (WEF) has been canceled, mainly due to death threats. The security system has been reinforced for the other events.

As the Open Forum is open to the general public, it is more difficult to ensure its security. Protective measures are also complicated to implement because of the pandemic.

Vaccination will be compulsory for the rest of the Forum and it will also be necessary to pass a test to be able to access it. The event will be held January 17-21 in Davos, with the motto “Working Together, Restoring Trust”.

The Open Forum was first held in 2003, after criticism that the WEF was taking place behind closed doors and that ordinary citizens could not view the discussions.
