The competitors positioned at this level and upstream were invited to descend to Bourg Saint-Maurice while the 293 riders who had already crossed it were able to continue the race. It is an extreme test which carries risks like all extreme sports, zero injuries not always inevitable, the candidates know what to expect, it is their passion. Sorry for this death. Human beings overestimate their physical resources, and in a hostile / wild area, the slightest misstep is fatal
