It’s a new kind of address that opened just a week ago in Cosne d’Allier. L’Echallié, that’s its name, could appear like a classic convenience food store. Its particularity is that it contains ONLY products from local producers.

They are in fact about twenty, from around forty kilometers maximum, who have joined forces to set up an association of producers. They take turns to run the store three days a week. And thus sell their productions, without intermediary.

The creation of this store was made possible thanks to aid from the Region and the Departmental Council of Allier. 5,600 euros for the latter, who in December 2020 launched a call for expressions of interest to encourage the opening of this type of business.

The Department has supported a total of 5 projects under this call for expressions of interest, including the creation of a self-service area with automatic food lockers in Brethon.
