A violent fire broke out in a three-storey building complex with more than 200 m2 on the ground, Friday January 14, in the center of Cognac, near Place François -Ist. It mobilizes around forty firefighters. We do not deplore any injuries, just a shopkeeper shocked and inconvenienced by the smoke. The national police and the municipal police evacuated and cordoned off the area.

The disaster was declared around 4 p.m., at 27, boulevard Denfert-Rochereau, in the Aglaà © beauty institute. It quickly spread to the back of the building, towards the Marionnaud store located in the pedestrian artery, rue dâ ???? Angouleme , and in unoccupied apartments upstairs. These two adjoining shops are located in very closely intertwined premises: they were moved, a long time ago, in the former Monsieur Bricolage de Cognac.

Firefighters deployed two ladders. The numbers involved are substantial. They come from the centers of Cognac, Jarnac, Segonzac, Barbezieux and La Couronne.
