A police officer accompanied by a woman aboard a motorcycle was shot dead by an unknown gunman on the National Highway of Barangay Dakit in the city of Barili, Cebu on Saturday morning, May 29, 20201. The officer has been identified as Police Commissioner Sergeant Raymund Zozobrado, 40, a resident of Mambaling, Cebu City, and assigned to work in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental.

He was identified by Police Major Romeo Caacoy Jr. Caacoy said Zozobrado rode his Nmax motorcycle with Vanessa Go Tura, 30, a resident of Mohon, Talisay City, as a passenger. According to Caacoy, the unidentified gunner aboard a Toyota Innova with license plate number 8735, the victim was shot. After the victim fell, the gunman’s vehicle sped to Carcar City. Caacoy immediately called the police stations to set up a blocking force. As of this writing, there have been no updates to this initiative. Zozobrado survived an ambush in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on April 29, 2018. It came from the trail of another policeman who was killed.
