Finalists of the last World Cup, Croatia followed the rhythm of Russia to stay ahead of Group H. The displayed level of play is not as good as in 2018 but the Croats can boast of finishing well their matches. A repeat of their first five results (3v, 1n, 1d) would see them equal their record from their 2018 WC qualifying campaign, which was enough to send them to the second round of the Play-offs. The ‘Blazers’ attack will have to be inspired by the hero of 2018, Mario Mandžukić, who has just announced his retirement from the sport, after a record of just five goals in this edition. At least Croatia’s defense continues to excel as they are already close to matching the six clean sheets retained at this stage of qualifying for WC 2018.

The only team to score Croatia in qualifying, Slovenia won the first leg at home 1-0. She is currently 3rd in the group behind Russia and Croatia with 7 points and can therefore come back to her opponent in the event of another victory. A match full of suspense awaits us!
