Berlin: RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer is expected to sign for defending champion Bayern Munich, who admitted on Saturday that his possible transfer “could be an issue for us”.
The 27-year-old was for the Bundesliga game on Sunday at the Champions League club Wolfsburg removed from the Leipzig squad.
Bayern are expected to pay 16 million euros for the Austrian midfielder, and the German daily Bild says the clubs are in talks.
Sabitzer, who has scored 52 goals in 229 games for Leipzig since 2014, will leave the contract next June.
He appears together with Julian Nagelsmann, who left Leipzig this season to train for FC Bayern , and his former teammate Dayot Upmecano, who also moved from Saxony to Munich this season.
The transfer window closes on Tuesday and Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has d The interest in Sabitzer not disputed before the Bundesliga home game on Saturday against Hertha Berlin.
Salihamidzic, however, rejected reports. Bayern want to sign Jonas Hofmann and Matthias Ginter from Mönchengladbach before the deadline on Tuesday.
