The second half of the season will kick off in the Bundesliga on Matchday 18 of the German league. Already well established in the lead, Bayern Munich seems to be heading straight for an additional league title.

Bayern Munich will start their year 2022 with the reception of Borussia Monchengladbach. At the top of the championship, the Bavarians are already nine points ahead of runner-up Dortmund. The third, Friborg, is at 14 points, after only 17 days. The Munichs are surfing a series of seven consecutive wins, including five in the league. As usual, they are very prolific offensively with 56 goals scored, including 19 by the lone Robert Lewandowski. Bayern have the best attack and also the best defense with 16 goals conceded. The Polish striker’s partners also have the best record at home and away. They totally dominate the Bundesliga and are well ahead of all their competitors.

Bayern are heading towards a new league title which would be the tenth in a row. It shows the outrageous Munich domination and no one seems able to compete. In the last ten seasons and again this year, the closest team has been Borussia Dortmund. It’s also the only training that constantly annoys them. BVB stuck Bayern at the start of the season before slumping with the injury of Haaland in particular. Especially Dortmund have not recovered from their 3-2 loss to Munich in a close duel and are now nine points behind, a gap that will be difficult to close. Behind, several teams disappoint and are far from the German throne. Leipzig, regularly on the podium in recent seasons, is only tenth at mid-season. Wolfsburg and Monchengladbach are having a very poor exercise and are in the second half of the standings. Leverkusen is not flamboyant either, so much so that a surprise guest takes third place is Freiburg.

Weaker competition and still irresistible Bavarians: has the title already been played in the Bundesliga? Only Dortmund seem able to shake them up.
