US President Joe Biden has called on sports venues to require spectators to be vaccinated or tested negative in order to attend events across the country.

In a speech in which he outlined plans, Biden pleaded Introduce a mandate to vaccinate millions of federal government employees.

The US has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases, with an average of 145,000 new cases reported in the past week.

This is a sharp increase since late June when around 11,000 were reported in the last few days of the month.

Approximately 175 million Americans have been fully vaccinated, but 80 million people are still to be dosed.

Hospital, healthcare workers and other medical facilities must be vaccinated under the Biden Executive Order as well as all federal employees.

“Overall, the vaccine requirements in my plan will be about 100 million Amer icans affect – two-thirds of all workers, “said Biden.

” And for other sectors, I make this appeal: For those of you who run large entertainment venues from sports arenas to concert venues to cinemas, please ask People getting vaccinated or taking a negative test as an entry requirement.

“And for the country’s GPs, paediatricians, GPs in the country – general practitioners – you are the most trusted medical voice for their patients.

” Maybe you are the only person who can get someone to change their mind about the vaccination.

“I ask each of you to reach out to your unvaccinated patients in the next two weeks and ask them personally to have the vaccination get.

“My message to unvaccinated Americans is: What is there to wait? What else do you need to see? We made vaccinations free, safe and convenient, “added Biden.

The appeal to sports organizations could lead to tightening rules for entry requirements for events as participants and spectators at several events.

Spectators The US Open had to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status in order to participate in the ongoing Grand Slam event.

The protocol was announced last month. Officials require visitors 12 and older to provide evidence that they have received at least their first vaccination.
