He came to beat his personal best, it’s done. Bergeracois Yohan Durand completed the Paris marathon in 2:09:21 this Sunday morning. He improved his best mark by more than two minutes. His previous record was last May, in Milan (Italy): he ran the distance in 2:12:27. The Périgord is ranked first French, in a race full of control. After a stint in 1:04:18 in the half marathon in the French group, he gradually broke away from the 25th kilometer.

A superb performance which sounds like a revenge for the athlete who had to leave the competition several months after an operation of the right Achilles tendon in September 2018. Since then, the athlete of the Bergerac Athletic Club had shown his condition. form: last September, he was crowned French champion in the Paris half-marathon.
