THE San Miguel Beermen and Rain or Shine Elastopainters face a tough duel on Sunday, September 12, 2021 as both teams look for wins to advance them to the next round of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup at Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga. The Beermen will claim the third straight win that would take them to the quarterfinals along with early qualifier TNT Tropang Giga, while the Elasto Painters are eager to capture the ring for a second episode that will give them a ticket to the next Round among the eight teams.

In a post on the PBA website, Beermen coach Leo Austria said it will be a tough challenge to take on the very defensive e-painters, “Siguradong pahirapan ito,” he added. Across the court, Rain or Shine trainer Chris Gavina described the game as yet another test of his team’s character and resilience. “With the way the San Miguel Beermen have played their last two games, our margin of error is very low,” said Gavina in the SMB match, but for the remainder of her qualifying rounds. “For us and our culture, adversity is a face-to-face gift and in this case the challenge is to take on an impressive SMB team and have the attitude and mindset that this is a challenge that will give us a ticket attitude for a trip towards Gre can buy, “he said.
