2021 promises to be terrible for French beekeepers. After a prosperous 2020, the harvest this year suffered from capricious weather, explains Radio Classique.

As the honey harvest is about to end, French beekeepers are announcing a dramatic year. Indeed, according to the National Union of French Beekeeping (UNAF), relayed by Radio Classique, the annual production would be of the order of 20 to 30% of a normal harvest. In 2020, hexagonal beekeepers had harvested 32,000 tonnes of honey against 7,000 to 8,000 tonnes in 2021, according to UNAF estimates.
