As part of the Glasgow club’s 150th anniversary, Arsenal faced Steven Gerrard’s Rangers. A second friendly in Scotland for the Gunners this preseason.

Arteta’s side lost 2-1 to Hibernians in their opener and also failed to win against the Scottish champions on Saturday. The Gunners have also been led to the score twice.

The Gunners started off with a starting XI made up of, among others, Aubameyang, Nketiah, Willian, Elneny and Kolasinac. After 14 minutes of play, Balogun sent the ball to the back of the net to bring the score to 1-0.

Arsenal responded in the 23rd minute thanks to Nuno Tavares. The young Portuguese reinforcement recovered a ball in the box after a poor clearance from the Rangers defense and struck perfectly with his right foot to bring the score to 1-1 at the break.

It was not until the second half that new goals were scored. In the 75th minute, a corner landed again in Okwonko’s net. Itten’s header made it 2-1 for a Rangers side that ultimately failed to win.

The Scots had a few good chances, but Nketiah scored the equalizer with a nice left-footed shot into the box in the 83rd minute.
