THE AUDIT – “I’m not saying we need more officials. It is better to distribute them ”, judged Philippe Juvin, candidate for the LR congress, this Monday on Europe 1.

THE QUESTION. As the 2022 presidential election approaches, the debate over the number deemed too high of civil servants in France is coming to the fore. The candidates for the LR congress want, for some, to cut thousands of positions. Valà © rie Pà © cresse has announced that he wants to remove 200,000 from the “administering administration”. Eric Ciotti mentioned, meanwhile, a drop of 250,000 positions.

For his part, Philippe Juvin, mayor of La Garenne-Colombes and head of emergencies at the Georges-Pompidou hospital in Paris, proposes an alternative, by distributing the workforce differently. “I’m not saying we need more civil servants. Better to send them out. For example, I would divide the number of administrative staff in the public hospital by three. There are as many administrators in public hospitals as there are doctors ”, he explained on Monday at the microphone of Europe 1. A figure which may surprise, as this ratio seems high ©. And these same standards and procedures prevent the operational staff from working. The administrators are in a serious conflict of interest, because their career interest is at odds with the public service. are all called “Directions.” Except that public service is not to lead, it is to serve. remove them all and give power back to operational officials: teaching police doctors ….
