PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) – European aviation group Airbus announced on Friday that India had formalized an order for 56 C295 military transport aircraft.

Under the terms of the contract, Airbus will produce the first 16 units at its site in Seville, Spain, while the remaining 40 aircraft will be manufactured in India and assembled by Indian company Tata Advanced Systems.

The first 16 aircraft will be delivered over the course of four years after the contract is implemented, Airbus said.
