A 22-year-old man was injured by a gun on Monday at midday in Lorient. Two suspects have just been arrested in the afternoon after the intervention of the RAID police. The victim is a priori out of vital danger.

A man was wounded by a firearm, shortly before 1 p.m., in the Frébault district in Lorient on Monday. The 22-year-old was evacuated to Scorff hospital but “the victim seems, a priori, out of danger” according to the prosecution. According to information from France Bleu Breizh Izel, the victim was hit in the buttock after having received one or more projectile shots.

Quickly dispatched to the scene, 25 agents of the Lorient police carried out the first investigations on the ground and cross-checked the testimonies of residents as part of an open investigation. They allowed the arrest and detention of two individuals later in the afternoon. And especially after the intervention of a dozen police officers from the Rennes RAID branch.

Aged 20 and around 30, the two accused were arrested in an apartment in a nearby building according to our information. One is suspected of being the shooter, the second is suspected of complicity. For the time being, investigators do not know the motive for this dispute.
