A fire broke out this Tuesday, January 11, shortly after 6 a.m. in a municipal building that houses the ski school in Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe in Savoie. When the firefighters arrived, the roof of the building was completely ablaze.

A fire ravages a municipal building in Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe in Savoie. Since 6 hours, this Tuesday, 25 firefighters from Savoie and Haute-Savoie have been mobilized to control the disaster.

It was a resident of the station who was the first to witness the fire around 6 a.m. on Tuesday while he was walking his dog. Flames were rising from the roof.

The 100 m2 building is located on the snow front and houses the ESF ski school of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe. The mayor of the town Philippe Mollier wants to be reassuring “it is a new hard blow but we will adapt, we will manage as we have always done. We have seen others for two years.”

Solutions are already being considered. The instructors, who are around fifty in the resort, already have another room at the bottom of the town but to accommodate the public on the snow front, an algéco, a small prefabricated building, could be installed.
