On Saturday September 25, 2021, nearly 40 parachutists will fly over Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche), to land on the salt meadows. General Patton’s granddaughter will be present.
For the traditional Saint-Michel feast, they will descend from the sky, with their backs to the Wonder, to arrive in the salt meadows. The green light will be given at 2 p.m. from a Broussard plane.
It will be followed by a procession and then blessing at the Saint-Pierre church located in the village of Mont-Saint-Michel.
The paratroopers will be medalists, in the presence of a special guest: Helen Patton, granddaughter of General Patton.
For several years now, the famous American has been the heartfelt godmother of the lifeboat of the National Society for Rescue at Sea (SNSM) of Mont-Saint-Michel.
Rescue workers will also be present at the entrance to Mont-Saint-Michel throughout the day to explain their mission.
