The Cognacais Antoine Eito and his teammates (among which the Rochelais Alex Vialaret, substitute) ensured their qualification in the quarterfinals of the Olympic qualifying tournament, Friday May 28, in Graz (Austria). The Blues beat the Philippines on the wire (15-14), before easily dominating Qatar (21-10) and ending the group stage unbeaten. The quarters, the semi-finals and the final will take place on Sunday May 30th. To qualify for the Olympics this summer, France will have to finish in one of the top three places in the tournament.

The French women’s 3×3 team kicked off their Olympic qualifying tournament with a setback and victory on Thursday 27 May. Beaten by the United States in the inaugural match (21-17), the Rochelaise Marie Mané (substitute) and the French made up for it with the manner against the ???? Uruguay, a few minutes later (20-9). Les Bleues, third in the pool behind the Americans and Germans, challenge the latter this Saturday, May 29 (11 am) before facing Indonesia (1:30 p.m.). To hope to reach the quarter-finals, they will have to take one of the first two places in the pool.
