Mayor Vico Sotto granularly locked 37 areas in Pasig City on Friday (March 19) amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR).

“With the increase in cases and the occurrence of variants and on the recommendation of our Department of Epidemiology and Surveillance of the City (CHD-CESU), I declare a granular lockdown in 37 areas of Pasig City, “he said.

The mayor made it clear that persons who go to work or are authorized people outside of residence (APOR) or people with emergencies are still allowed to go outside their homes.

Sotto urged his constituents to be extra careful, especially as new variants of COVID-19 have emerged.

Sotto had previously announced the temporary closure of ten health centers in the city after its health workers became COVID-19 positive Case.

On his official Facebook account, Sotto said the following health centers will be closed until all health care workers have been tested:
