On October 5, the World’s 50 Best Restaurants was unveiled, a ranking listing all of the best restaurants in the world. This year, Chef René Redzepi’s Noma restaurant, located in Copenhagen, Denmark, took first place. The chef had already won the title in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, he dethroned Italian-Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco from Mirazur *** in Menton.

Nordic cuisine seems to attract more and more gourmets, since the second establishment included in this ranking, the Geranimum, is also located in Copenhagen. In third place, we find the Spanish restaurant Asador Etxebarri, located in Nizkaia, by Basque chef Victor Arguinzoniz. Four other Spanish restaurants are also included in this ranking, three in France (all in Paris), four in Italy, six in the United States, two in London and Berlin.

But Belgium is also honored in this ranking, as the restaurant of chef Hof van Cleve, located in the municipality of Kruisem in East Flanders, climbed to 36th place. Looking at the top 100, chef Nick Bril and his restaurant The Jane in Antwerp ranked 66th. Finally, the Willem Hiele restaurant in Koksijde came for the first time in 77th place.
