MANILA, Philippines – The government will escalate the quarantine status of 14 additional areas and place them under alert level 3 amid the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in the country.

In In a taped briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte Thursday evening, Cabinet Secretary and Acting Speaker of the President Karlo Nograles said the government’s pandemic task force, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, had agreed to the following Areas to be made stricter Warning level:

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal are currently in warning level 3 until January 15th, while Laguna will be classified in the same warning level from January 7th.
